News: "The Baddest Bitch" Gets Robbed; Trina's Single Swiped From Recording Studio


Miami based record label Slip N Slide was informed yesterday September 25 th, 2007 that their female artist Trina newest unreleased single entitled "Single Again" was stolen from the studio and leaked in an email blast. In hast however the perpetrator stole the wrong version on the track.

With a more than "high demand" for the critically acclaimed "Queen of The South" to speed up her come back process, Insiders speculate that a anxious individual stole the Un -leaked single entitled 'Single Again' from the computer and distributed it illegally.

CEO of Slip N Slide Records Ted Lucas, states that "This mishap is extremely unfortunate and that the official "Single Again" track ft. Trina by herself will be Re-released the proper way by the end of the week, I am thankful that nothing else was taken from the computer, I guess we can look at this as a bizarre experience and move forward with upcoming Trina's project."

Trina is in complete shock, and at a lost for words at a time in music when a break in occurs due to the high demand and secrecy of a new single being released.

Slip N Slide publicist Krystle Coleman stated that "the label has taken immediate action for Trina's album Da Baddest Chick part 2 Reloaded is set to drop in February 2008, with guest appearances by Missy Elliot and Gwen Stefani.

In addition to Trina's fourth coming album Da Baddest Chick part 2 Reloaded. Trina is also launching her lifestyle brands in the beginning of 2008. Her lifestyle brands will consist of signature fragrances, hand picked by the Diamond Princess herself as well as a line of luxury clothes, consisting of one of a kind piece.

Kanye occasionally falls under a category I like to call “green rappers.” Not because his money is longer than a stretch of Texas highway, but because he recycles more rhymes than the average rapper. Anyone remember the “Hater n***as marry hater b*tches and have hater kids…” rhyme from a mixtape freestyle that found its way onto “Bring Me Down”? Or the “people talk so much sh*t about me at the barbershop that they forget to get their hair cut…” line from “Is That Your Car” that wound up on “Everything I Am.”?



Similarly, “Home Coming” (with John Legend) appeared on a pre-College Dropout mixtape back in 2003. The same song, now starring Coldplay’s Chris Martin and a new beat, resurfaced on this year’s Graduation.


Ye figured that not too many people knew about the original song. Plus, he already told Jay he did a song with Coldplay.


Compare both tracks and let me know which version you prefer.

Will Jay-Z and LL Go At It? The internet has been going nuts about LL Cool J and Hov potentially crossing mics on wax. "I'm already the G.O.A.T, next stop is the billi," Hov offered on 50 Cent's "I Get Money" remix. Funkmaster Flex, who premiered the song, thinks Jigga jabbed, fans say it's a jab, and Uncle L definitely thinks it's a jab. In a recent interview, L was beside himself when addressing Jay's alleged shots.

"I love the competition. I'm about to smack some cats here soon," a visibly insulted L told Blok TV. "They're talking a little reckless out there. They done stepped in...got themselves in trouble."

"This new generation doesn't necessarily know my history. So sometimes you gotta Bernard Hopkins a cat for them to understand what they dealing with," he added. "There's a lot of paper champions running around fronting. And we gon' get it straight now. I'm happy that this moment has come to this." [Watch LL Interview Here]

On the flip side, Hov phoned into Angie Martinez's Hot 97 radio show to downplay the feud. "I wasn't thinking about him [LL]," Jay told Angie. "I'm being very honest. I really believe myself to be the greatest of all time. I was just trying to have a slick line. I just thought it was a fun play on words."

"If I wanted to go there, I would just really just go all the way out," Jay continued. "I don't like the way he's carrying it. We could have definitely talked about this. Or he could have just gave me a phone call. That's his decision, but I respect him as a legend in the game. And he gon' get a couple of passes because of that."

Knowing LL, he doesn't care and will go at Hov regardless. Ya'll remember what he did with Canibus.

Right behind him is Rihanna at No. 21. The latest effort from the Def Jam songbird, Good Girl Gone Bad, ropes in 20,500 copies this week. After 14 weeks, the album's tally stands at 635,800.

Houston veterans UGK continue to grind it out at No. 26. Underground Kingz raked in 19,200 units this week, pushing the album's total sales numbers to 301,800.

Rising eleven spots to No. 26 is muscle-bound producer Timbaland. Shock Value shelves off 19,000 discs this week. So far, the album has sold 614,500 copies.

Jamaica's Sean Kingston slides six slots to No. 32. 17,700 purchases of his self titled album were made this week, pushing the album's total sales to 204,100.

After a noteworthy resurgence last week, Akon trips ten spots to No. 33. Konvicted moves 17,700 units this week. To date, the Senegalese born crooner has sold a total of 2,643,200 copies

Next in line is Akon protégé, T-Pain, at No. 34. Epiphany reels in 7,200 copies this week, bringing the album's total sales to 633,800.

Talib Kweli slumps nineteen spots to No. 39. Ear Drum reins in 15,900 copies this week. After three weeks, the album's tally stands at 100,300.

Further down is producer Swizz Beatz at No. 54. One Man Band Man continues to hurt in the sales department as it only moves 10,700 units in its third week. So far, the album has sold 71,200 copies.

Posted at No. 55 is Fabolous. The Brooklyn rapper's fourth solo album, From Nothing To Something, rings in 10,600 discs this week. The total for the album reads off at 446,900.

Def Jam crooner Ne-Yo floats four levels up to No. 58. Because Of You shells out 10,100 discs this week. The album's all around tally stands at 784,200.

Also ascending is Robin Thicke who jumps ten spots to No. 59. The Evolution Of Robin Thicke moved 9,900 units this week., bringing the album's total sales to 1,401,000.

New York bred singer Chrisette Michelle leaps nineteen spots to No. 60. I Am shifts 9,800 copies in its twelfth week on the chart. The album's total sales rounds up to 137,200.

The recent release of his second single, "I'm So Hood," helps push DJ Khaled sixteen spots to No. 74. We The Best scoops up 8,000 units this week, pushing the album's total to 206,900.

Chicago crooner R. Kelly refuses to budge from his No. 75 spot. Double Up deals out 7,700 in its 15th week on the charts. Thus far, the album has sold 847,800 copies. Weekly Soundscan Numbers 09/06/07

Yung Joc with his sophomore effort Hustlenomics. According to Nielsen's SoundScan, the album flipped 69,000 units in its opening week. The album features appearances from Jim Jones, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Trick Daddy.

Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas continues to steamroll the competition after 50 weeks on the charts, as she jumps one spot to (No. 5). The Dutchess reeled in 50,700 copies this week, pushing the album's total to 2,589,900.

Posted at (No. 12) is T.I. The latest effort from the self-proclaimed "King Of The South," T.I. vs. T.I.P., attains platinum status in its 9th week by shifting 28,400 discs. The album's tally stands at 1,002,200.

H-Town legends UGK slip six slots to (No. 16). Underground Kingz netted 26,500 CDs this week, bringing the album's total sales to 282,500.

Talib Kweli, who debuted at No. 2 last week, plummets eighteen spots to (No. 20). Eardrum shelves off 23,700 copies in its second go-around. So far , the album has sold 84,300 copies.

Right behind him is Chicago rhymer Common at (No. 21). Finding Forever has sold a total of 305,900 copies after 3 weeks. 23,500 units represent the week-in total.

Slip-N-Slide standout Plies sits tight at (No. 22). His debut, Real Testament, ropes in 22,500 units in its fourth week. So far, the disc has sold 184,500 copies.

The re-release of Akon's Konvicted, which includes a DVD and three new songs, helps the Senegalese born singer make an impressive leap from (No. 64 to No. 23). The deluxe edition disc shells out 22,100 CDs in its first week, pushing Konvicted's tally to 2,625,500.

Def Jam princess Rihanna stands tall at (No. 24). Good Girl Gone Bad cashes out 21,800 discs in its thirteenth week, pushing the album's total to 615,200.

Jamaican sensation Sean Kingston refuses to budge from the (No. 26) spot. The singer's self titled debut dials in 21,800 units this week. After 5 weeks, the album has sold 186,400 copies

Justin Timberlake floats eight spots to (No. 32). FutureSex/LoveSounds has moved 3,545,000 units thus far, with 19,600 representing the week-in total.

A spot below at (No. 33) is T-Pain. Epiphany hauled in 19,400 units this week, bringing the album's total sales to 616,600.

Timberlake producer Timbaland hoists himself up two spots to (No. 35.) Shock Value bagged up 19,200 copies this week. So far, the album has sold 595,400 copies.

Swizz Beatz, who debuted at No. 7 last week, plunges thirty five spots to (No. 42). One Man Band Man scooped up 15,200 units in its second week, pushing the album's total to 60,400.

Debuting at (No. 50) is underground rapper Aesop Rock with his latest effort None Shall Pass. The album, which features Def Jux label mates El-P , Cage and Rob Sonic, hustles 13,200 copies in its opening week.

Brooklyn spitter Fabolous slips five spots to (No. 58). From Nothin' To Somethin' sells 11,500 copies this week, pushing the album's total sales to 436,200.

Four seats away is Def Jam crooner Ne-Yo at (No. 62). Because Of You, moved 10,800 units in its eighteenth week. Thus far, the album has sold a total of 774,100 copies

Leanin' at (No. 68) is Robin Thicke. Evolution Of Robin Thicke cashes out 9,700 discs this week, pushing the album's total sales to 1,391,100. The legendary Prince continues to struggle to find a spot on the charts as he slumps twenty two spots to (No. 73). Planet Earth reels in an additional 9,200 units this week. The total for the album reads off at 200,300. Also showing signs of struggle is R. Kelly at (No. 75). Double Up only moves 9,000 copies this week, bringing the album's total sales to 840,100. Chrisette Michele floats up one level to (No. 79). I Am scored 8,700 copies this week. The album's tally stands at 127,400.

Further down the totem pole, Corrine Bailey Rae sits at (No. 89). Her self titled album notches 7,600 in sales this week, bringing the album's total to 1,682,500. A 67% increase in sales pushes DJ Khaled back in the Top 100. His sophomore effort We The Best , which holds fort at (No. 90), hustled 7,400 copies this week. So far , the album has sold 198,900 copies. Wrapping up the Top 100 is Beyonce. B'Day rings out 7,300 copies this week. To date, the album's tally stands at 2,860,200.

Next week look for Joc and Fergie to battle it out for the top spot on the Hip-Hop and R&B Charts.
